Bidding War
Uh oh! You forgot to get your mom a birthday present this year! That woman raised you. Shame on you. Now all you have is an hour and $50 to get her a present. To the art auction you go! I'm focusing on both storyline and player risk (albeit on a very small scale). I would love feedback on if every end works as intended, there are about 5 endings you can get in my game, so it was hard to keep track of them all.
TRIGGER WARNING: Mean old women :(

After reading your intention and knowing about the auction part of your story, I was surprised and pleased with the turn to outdoor action and chase scenes. Moving from the bidding into a totally different type of story with (SPOILER) an option to beat up an elderly woman was funny and made me giggle. The Loop Ending is also very smart, leaning into replayability…I wish it had a button to return to the beginning though, instead of just saying “feel free to start over” - you could connect it directly back to the Collingwood Art Auction passage!
Great work!
I think this game is pretty neat. I especially like the illustrations that go with the story (albeit this was not the focus it was still a nice touch). I was able to get all 5 endings as intended, but I was surprised to see that where you sit doesn't influence the endings as much as some of the choices you make at the end, considering how they are almost portrayed as different routes for you to take at the beginning of the story. While there did end up being risk and reward in the auction, I feel like most of the endings you could achieve were derived from the option where you don't risk anything at all, ironically. The narrative in the story is still told well and kept interesting, I was compelled to discover all the endings to completion. Nice job!!
I try to figured out all the endings of the name, I would say this is a really sweet story, whatever choice you made, whatever the gift you bought, you mom gonna be happy about you send her a gift. I think the most interesting part of the game is where you decide bid or not to bid for the painting, where player needs to make decisions, I think you might want to put the player at risk of losing money, then it's harder to make decision and you can't really predict what gonna happen next. For exploring with Twine, I saw some interesting font effect, I think it's a good representation of emotion. Thank you for making this game! Fun to play :)
Very cute! The pixel art was very charming, and the scenes with the old woman were surprisingly tense for the format. I appreciated how each object won at the auction appeared in the artwork at the end. Again, very cute! My choices were very clearly communicated, which made for a smooth experience. Good work :3
This is an interesting game. Through the auction process, players have a lot of freedom to choose. After many attempts, I successfully found 5 endings! Among them, there are three endings that I have not found at the beginning until I carefully thought about each of my choices and found them eventually. The options of this game reflect risks and are individual actions. I think the impact of each choice is not reflected immediately but is more shown in the ending. The auction is very creative and interesting. Also, the illustration in the game makes the whole story more immersive! I like the illustrations in the game very much! In general, this game shows an excellent combination of risk and relaxation, the balance is very good. I like this game very much!
